For once, i dont understand…
It’s supposed to be a total insult to wear white to someone else’s wedding. Just like the bride tends to pick plainer (or just not as pretty) dresses for the Bride’s Maids. So nobody looks as pretty as her.

Robert- The GAM threatening to wear white at another girls wedding is because as a female guest, you don’t want to upstage the bride by wearing the same color as her (i.e. White). That color is usually reserved for the bride, and most brides do get very upset if a female guest or member of the wedding party wears white, because she then feels that she’s either being upstaged or the limelight is not completely on her. Complicated, I know.
yeah, it is taboo to wear white to a wedding–something about taking away from the bride. Personally, i think think it is stupid, but what do i know.

Personally, I think it’d be way better revenge to show up to the wedding in nothing but her jewelry and birthday suit….but it’s hilarious that a person’s attire could serve as their own revenge. It’s considered extremely insulting to the bride to wear white to her wedding. Mostly because it’s the brides “speacil day” so, naturally, they want to stand out. If someone else is wearing white it’s kind of considered the Ultimate Bitch move because you’ll be pulling attention away from the bride.

As it stands, Charlie, I see your point. But, my gf would just slap a bitch. In the church. In front of the entire assembly. She might wear white as an extra “Fuck You” gesture, but the violence would come first.
You know, when I got married, I didn’t even notice what other people were wearing. It just wasn’t an issue. No one else was decked out in far too much satin and lace. I stuck it out long enough for pics and then was back into jeans and a shirt for the rest of the day. Everyone there knew who was getting (or had just gotten) married.

You know, she could be a member of the wedding party. Which could be why she’s talking as if she’s sure she’s invited to the wedding. And the bride could already have turned into a Bridezilla, which probably why she’s being bitchy to the GAM.
I think if someone wore white to my wedding it wouldn’t matter my dress will be blue, black, white, and violet.
and wearing white is going against Xenophilius’ advice – people should wear sun colours to weddings (and if the Queen does it so should we)… mind you the GAM are proabaly muggles…
