Charlie covering his ears
Two annoying girls moved into the apartment above me.
I'm forced to hear every dumb thing they say.
These are my letters to them.

“I set my clock the wrong way and was two hours early for my waxing appointment!” At least your pubes got an extra hour of sleep.

  1. Sara says:

Apparently she hasn’t heard the saying “fall back, spring ahead”?

    • Jamie says:

She probably thought it was “fall forward, spring back” (like referring to the bend and snap – or something…):)

      • überRegenbogen says:

The spring-forward/fall-back mnemonic was never useful to me for that very reason; it’s not sufficiently obvious. (One can spring back from something that startles them. And it’s actually more common to fall over in a forward direction—when, for example, blacking out.) It’s much simpler to me to just remember the offsets from UTC for Standard and DST time.

The same is true of the Thirty Days Hath November thing. I just remember that the odd numbered months have 31 days, ’till august, then it’s the even numbered months; and february is its freakish self, with 28 days, except every 4 years when it has 29, except every 400 years, except every 4000 years. Some people can’t deal with that. But i find it much simpler than the poem (which still has to describe the base convolution, whilst adding it’s own layer of convolution, so just makes the mess bigger).

  2. Justin says:

She gets 1/2 a point for remembering to change her clock. I can’t believe she never looked at her cell phone for the time as they change automatically and are basically idiot proof (but I guess idiot proof does not cover the girls that live above Charlie).

    • Bertie says:

Cut her some slack! My phone didn’t set back automatically. Thankfully my computer did or else I wouldn’t have remembered.

  3. Kate says:

Wait… if the time falls back… and she set it the wrong way…. wouldn’t she of been late?

    • Mike says:

UHHHHHH, NO! Lets just say, it was noon. Then the clocks went back an hour. If you did nothing, your clock would read noon while everybody else’s clock would read 11am, making you an hour early. Then if you did the opposite, your clock would read 1pm while everybody’s clock would ready 11am, making you 2 hours early.

  4. Beki says:

As funny as these are, when they don’t make you dread the future of humanity, why haven’t you moved out?

    • Jillian says:

But.. if he moves out, then we don’t get any quotes. Sometimes ya gotta take one for the team.

      • Charlie McDowell says:

Trust me, I’ve thought about it many many times. BUT, I own my place…I ain’t going anywhere.

  6. Trippetta says:

At least she didn’t think she’d traveled back in time.

  7. kaitlin says:

Hey! There’s a gap between the days o: whats up with that? What happened on November 6 and 7?!?!

  8. catalina says:

What ever happened to Angela and her snarky comments? I miss them.

  9. alix says:

Why do you assume it was her pubes? Us girls have OTHER places on our body we get waxed… like our eyebrows, duh.

  10. Adi says:

Sometimes I feel as though you live in my basement…
I didn’t realize my cell phone changed automatically so I was 2 hours early as well… for a different kind of appointment. Dang YOUUUUU, daylight savings!!!!

    • überRegenbogen says:

I know people who live near the time-zone border. Their mobile phones go back and forth depending where the tower is that they’re connecting to. (I hope that some phones are smarter about this, or it’s an option.)

  11. Adi says:

wait scratch that. I was an hour late. It’s been a long couple weeks of midterms. I knew I wasn’t on time though.

  12. Its so unfortunate that this happens to so many childhood stars.

  13. oyun says:
