Everyone, I need your help. I still have the flu and today it decided to make my sore throat hurt even more. It hurts really bad to swallow so I’m kind of trying to avoid that. Eating is WAY out of the question, and I barely got any sleep last night. It hurts just to barely open my mouth, and it doesn’t help that I have a cough. I’m drinking tea with honey now, but I’m about to cry because this hurts so bad. My 400mg ibuprofen isn’t doing a thing, and I’m trying to get something else to take from the doctor, but for the time being I just have to wait. Any suggestions are more than welcome.

Oh no! I’m sick with the same thing and what’s helped was been tea with honey and lemon juice or hot chicken/vegetable broth. If you start feeling a bit better, milkshakes (with more milk than shake for a more liquid viscosity) are a good way to get fluid and protein for some food value. Hope you start to feel better soon!
boil water with lemon juice and add either honey or sugar, sugar tastes better, but honey feels better. Its like thick warm lemonade. My friend who is an alto soprano and uses this when her voice is hoarse before or after a performance. works amazingly.
