He should ask if her mom is capable of dressing herself and forming complete and coherent sentences. However, something tells me that the men they date don’t care about those things.
At least she is dating/hanging out with people that show some interest in the future. I bet all she cares about for the future is when the next season of Jersey Shore comes on.

To answer her question with the evolutionary theory, men look for younger looking women because they’re more likely to produce healthy offspring, so in mens defense, you can argue that it’s engrained as a survival instinct. Though it would have been nicer of him to meet her mom rather than ask.

I dropped my phone today and the screen went blank when it hit the ground so I couldn’t see anything I was doing on it. The thing I was most upset about? Not that I couldn’t text/call anyone, not that in case there was a murderer behind the shower curtain I wouldn’t be able to call 911. No, instead I had a mini heart attack when I realised I wouldn’t be able to come to this site, MLIA, and DearBlankPleaseBlank, since my phone is my only source of internet. Rest assured, my phone is fixed and I didn’t have to miss out on what two idiodic girls said today.

I don’t think it’s so shocking that he was thinking about it. Physical attraction is important in a relationship.
As to him having the nerve to ask her to her face: do we really think these girls pick the highest-quality guys with whom to be aquainted? Must we recall the “circle-jerk” incident?
